Week 29 7-17-20 “Rest if you Must, But Don’t you Quit!”
This week the City of Santa Monica, and LA County went back into lockdown due to the virus. What a shock as our school is gaining momentum, students returning, our church attendance increasing, restaurants reopening, returning to the gym. Hopefully this will be a short time of lockdown and closures.
Yet, there are many who are not social distancing and not doing the simple task of wearing a mask. Just because we may have the right to not wear a mask, does not mean it is the right thing to do. Being a business owner and seeing so many places of worship and businesses closing, such a small gesture can help slow down the pandemic.
Also, social distancing is so vital. Let it breath when you are in a crowd and give yourself some safe room six feet apart when you are out.
How confusing is all this when we hear to not wear a mask, or that wearing a mask is a political statement, or that it violates our rights. I am amazed that there are so many conflicting guidelines and that we as a nation are not united on such a simple gesture that may help save lives.
I do not have all the answers, but I will not quit striving to continue to give great service through our business even as we dance online. I may use some of this lockdown time to rest a bit, but I will not quit. I may not be able to actively serve in person at church, or do more through our business, or even support our Chamber and City in person, but I will not quit giving support in any way possible. Update to St. Monica Parish: We are having an outdoor social distancing mass this Sunday! Stay tuned!
Now is the best time for you to come back to dance at Arthur Murray. It beats sitting at home angry, afraid, confused, exhausted, or exasperated. Join our group classes, push back your sofa, roll up your carpet and take a private lesson from your living room. You’ll feel safe and have a great time learning.
As we have the bad news that comes our way, we must always remember that it will get better. With all the confusing messages out there today, I am sure of this one thing, we will all get through this. We may not all agree. We may fight and have completely opposite opinions and beliefs, but we will go on and there will be a brighter day coming for us all.
I won’t quit. I have the choice to hold on to my hopes and faith and that no one can take away from me. My vision is truly 20/20 even though 2020 is such a rough year. I have decided to take hold of my destiny and I’m willing to weather this storm in life.
At night I am aware that there is an angel of light protecting me as I sleep. My guardian angel carries a great shield that omits a huge circle of light, and a sword that cuts through the darkness and slays the demons of the night. You may think that’s crazy, but I feel that protection as I drift off to sleep. The angels of darkness and death are not able to penetrate the light. I drift off to sleep knowing that my life matters and that I will sleep in safety and peace. This inner vision gives me hope. This is part of how I pray and visualize peace for my family, home and work.
Whatever you need to stay sane, peaceful, hopeful, encouraged in these dark times, find it and hold on to it. Grasp your hope and never let go of it.
Well, I really zapped you with the angel of light story, but it’s very real to me.
Come back to dancing at Arthur Murray! You’ll be glad you did!
Remember, we will make it through all this. It will get better…and it will!
